About the Smithsonian’s Museum on Main Street Exhibitions
Museum on Mainstreet is an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution’s Traveling Exhibition Service, in partnership with the Wyoming Humanities Council. Together we bring Smithsonian quality exhibits to Wyoming. Each exhibit is curated by experienced museum professionals and researched to reflect the nation’s unique identity.
Wyoming Humanities has brought several exhibits to Wyoming, most recently Crossroads: Change in Rural America in 2021-2022. We are looking forward to hosting Spark! Places of Innovation for the year 2024-2025.
Many Voices, One Nation
For Many Voices, One Nation the Smithsonian Institute with Wyoming Humanities invite communities to explore history and time to examine how our communities, towns, cities, the state, and the nation came to be how they are now. Based on the permanent exhibition at the Smithsonian, with this exhibit communities will answer these kinds of questions:
- How did your community or home come to be the way it is now?
- Why is your community or home the way it is now?
- What transformations have taken place?
- What groups called this place home over time?
- Who calls this place home now?
- Why did change take place?
- Who is included in conversations of change? And why?
