Corporate Typography

Typography plays an important role in communicating an overall tone and quality. Careful use of typography reinforces our personality and ensures clarity and harmony in all Design. We have selected Janson Text LT, and Bourbon Grotesque for Wyoming Humanities communications, as the primary corporate typefaces.

Janson Text LT Std” refers to a specific variation of the “Janson Text” font family, where “LT” stands for “Linotype” (the font foundry) and “Std” signifies “Standard” - meaning it’s the regular weight of the font, designed for everyday text use, based on the classic Janson typeface known for its high contrast and crisp serifs, making it popular for body text in printed materials.

Design characteristics: It features a well-defined serif design with high contrast between thick and thin strokes, offering a clean and legible appearance.

Grotesque fonts are a type of early sans-serif font that originated in the 19th and early 20th centuries. They are often geometric in design, with simple letterforms and even stroke weights. The term “grotesque” was used to describe these fonts because they were a break from the traditional serif fonts that were more ornate at the time.

Grotesque fonts are still commonly used today in books, newspapers, magazines, logos, websites, and other printed materials. They are a good choice for creating a classic yet modern look.
